PURPOSE

The Plumbcorp Privacy Policy (Policy) provides information and guidance to ensure Plumcorp meets its legal and ethical obligations to appropriately manage all personal information and records held by Plumcorp. This Policy also sets the privacy conditions and terms governed by Plumbcorp.

This Policy explains what information is collected via the Plumbcorp website www.plumbcorp.com.au.

Plumbcorp is committed to respecting the personal information and privacy of its staff, customers, and business partners. Plumbcorp is committed to complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, which govern the collection, use, disclosure, storage, security, and disposal of personal information.

Plumbcorp will follow best practice to proactively secure and manage personal information and will implement processes to notify regulators and individuals potentially at risk of serious harm in the event of a suspected or confirmed privacy/data breach.        

PERSONAL AND SENSITIVE INFORMATION

Personal Information means information about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.

Sensitive Information means information concerning an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or health records. Sensitive information will only be collected if it is essential for a particular purpose.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Plumcorp only collects and stores personal information where required for a valid business purpose. T Plumbcorp accesses and stores information about its customers and members of the public for the purpose of providing services and support. Similarly, Plumbcorp may access, store, or become aware of personal and/or sensitive information relating to suppliers for the purpose of operating the business.   

ACCESS TO, DISCLOSURE, AND CORRECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

An individual can request access to personal information held by Plumbcorp, and all reasonable steps will be taken to provide access. If there are reasons that access cannot be given, the individual will be made aware of those reasons.

Personal Information held by Plumbcorp will not otherwise be disclosed, unless consent is received from the individual, or the disclosure is required or permissible by law.

Plumbcorp will take all reasonable steps to correct personal information it holds to ensure it is accurate, up-to-date, complete, relevant, and not misleading when it becomes aware of the need to do so, either through a request from the individual to whom the information relates or in some other way.

 

 

 

MANAGING, SECURITY, AND DISPOSAL OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personal information held by Plumbcorp will be carefully managed and stored securely. The requirement to secure and restrict access to personal information applies to both physical and electronic (digital) records. Security measures include:

  • Physical records: Includes lockable storage cabinets and access to restricted areas with card-controlled access.
  • Electronic records: Access controls include password protections on access to IT system/s, shared folders, and documents, and access logs.

Where personal or sensitive information is no longer required, steps will be taken to safely and securely dispose of it. Unless otherwise required, personal information will be held for seven (7) years.

YOUR INFORMATION AND THIRD PARTIES

To process and deliver your order we may have to provide your information to our service providers. This includes the companies who are responsible for the dispatching service and the Plumborp delivery service. Your contact telephone number and/or email will be passed on to our courier company who may contact you by phone, text message or email to update you on the delivery status of your order.

We may provide these companies with the information that it requires to complete the service. In assessing your request for goods or services, we may:

  • use your information for the purposes of the prevention and detection of fraud, and
  • disclose your address and post code details to check against the IMRG security alert or any other fraud prevention scheme.

Where the disclosure of your information is for the purpose of fraud prevention it will remain secure. If you believe your details are incorrect you may correct those details by following the procedure below.

We will not pass your information to any third parties outside of Plumbcorp except where required by law or to do so as a part of the sale, disposal or transfer of our business.
